As you will see, if you are here, I have a new web site. My friends at AuthorBytes urged me to update, so that the site works better for those viewing it through their phones. So I would be especially curious to hear from readers/viewers who are looking at the site in that way: does it work well?

Another reason to have a new site is that a new book is coming. I hope to finish up the chapter on 1866 and 1867 this week, in which case I will have only two chapters left: one about 1868 and one about the last few years of Chase’s life, from 1869 through 1873. November 2021 is looking quite possible.
