For those of you, if any, wondering what I am doing:  I am working on Edwin Stanton.  Right now I have here in Exeter fourteen reels of microfilm, a full copy of the Stanton papers at the Library of Congress, and I am spending time in the library basement, at the film reader, working through those reels page by page.  With luck I will be done by the end of the month.

My goal for this calendar year is to be nearing the end of my Stanton research, getting ready to write.

I have not forgotten my friend Seward, however.  I have a number of Seward events set, not as many as in 2012, but some that should be even more fun:  the Nantucket Book Festival in June and the Sun Valley Writers Conference in August.
